“Love Doesn’t Have To Come At Such A Price” is the first new track by Kristin McClement since her outstanding debut “The Wild Grips” (2015).
Here are her own words about the track, shared earlier this week: “While climbing the mountain that is my second album (trying to finish songs that have been with me for a while) I took a detour and wrote “Love doesn’t have to come at such a price”.
It is the first song I have recorded with my new best friend, a 1970s Bentley piano. As you may know, writing and releasing a song in the space of a few weeks is not something I’m known for, but I just had to tell the universe how I was feeling.
The artwork is a lino print of a sweet dove of freedom I made earlier this week.”
Kristin’s music is born of two separate worlds; the vast shapeshifting landscape of her childhood South Africa engraved with the melancholic romance of old England’s sacred woodland, rivers and valleys.
