about

In 20 years of music writing / blogging, much around has changed in the way music spreads on the web. Many different attempts have been made in finding new and different formats of music promotion, narration and generally featuring – simply – what I thought worth being pushed a bit through my words.

In more recent years, my personal free time (and space of mind) has shortened up considerably and most of the residual time has been spent for managing my inbox, between plenty of submissions I can no longer get through even if I would. On the other hand, music writing makes less sense each day (if it ever did!), in a world that spins too quickly for having the time to enjoy a release and focus on it without having the hurry to pass to the next one.

Streaming services and their damned algorithms are more than enough for discovering new music, so that only some old fashioned middle aged person who grew up at the times of cassettes and – afterwards – of 56k downloads might still feel the need of someone telling him/her what’s the sound and the content of an album that everyone is able to listen with his/her own ears.

There still might be ome discontinuous update of the site in the future, but for sure there will be no longer any deadline for choosing weekly updates or for featuring a video or streaming you’ll be able to find anywhere else.

It’s been a long journey – and an exciting one – that gave me the chance to know wonderful people and get in touch with many artists and labels I’ve appreciated the most: but time has come to put an end to something that’s no longer a personal amusement and that, much likely, is no longer as useful (if it ever did!) as when it started.

Of course, I won’t accept any further submissions, even if site’s email will still remain active and the site will remain online and freely accessible, at least as an archive for artists, labels and music lovers.

Thanks – with all my heart – to everyone who had the patience of following this site over the years or simply came across it discovering an artist, an album or a single track he/she enjoyed: that’s the most rewarding achievement of all the time I spent for keeping this place (and music passion) alive.

That’s all for now, then who knows?
