A delicate, heartfelt song for remembering and celebrating a lost friend.
In Danny Green’s words:
I met Paulette Wright when she was booked to support a Laish show we played in Paris in 2017. We were blown away by her performance and we became friends. Laish returned to Paris in 2018 and we invited her to sing with us on France Inter National Radio and at our biggest ever Paris show. She was such a kind, gentle presence and possessed the most arresting voice. A few weeks after our adventure, we heard she had committed suicide. It was such a shock to the whole band and we are continually haunted by her absence.
Being me, I always intended to write a song in her honour and this song has been floating around for several years in various different forms. But today, I let this one go…
Sending love to Paulette and her family. x
