Third single from Sam Burton’s forthcoming album, “I Can Go With You”, out Oct 30th via Tompkins Square.
Sam Burton has shared a new song “I Am No Moon”, along with an official music video. This is the third single ahead of his upcoming album I Can Go With You to be released October 30 on Tompkins Square, the early home of acclaimed talents like Hiss Golden Messenger, William Tyler, and Ryley Walker. Produced by Jarvis Taverniere (Woods, Whitney, Purple Mountains), I Can Go With You is a moody, melodic, melancholic offering fit for an emotional fall. Burton sings in a brooding, elegant baritone—reminiscent of Tom Rapp, but as though a contemporary of Michael Nau, Daniel Norgren, or Eric D. Johnson. His voice blooms and wilts in warm earnest over subtly intricate plucking and makes for stunning downer-folk that glows and tugs like shifting seasons, growing older, letting go.
Burton says of today’s song, “It’s about the inevitability of change, how we must make a choice when we are confronted by it. That we cannot remain in reflection.”
