Written and performed by Molly Linen. Recorded at Green Door by Ronan Fay. Video directed and edited by Tommy Perman.
Released on digital platforms on March 31, 2021 and via Lost Map’s PostMap Club subscription service in the month of April (backed with an exclusive remix by FOUND’s Tommy Perman), ‘A Lot to Give’ is the first in a string of new Molly Linen material set to be unveiled between now and the autumn. Recorded at all-analogue Glasgow studio Green Door, produced and mixed by Ronan Fay, ‘A Lot to Give’ unfolds one evening to the drone of an old air organ and a delicately finger-picked acoustic guitar. “An imagined conversation with an imagined person who lacks empathy,” says Molly. “A heart broken like a carelessly dropped vase.”
Molly Linen is a Glasgow-based songwriter and guitarist. Her beguiling voice is both emotive yet serene recalling the dulcet whispered tones of Cat Power, layered upon melodic guitar lines which draw influence from artists such as Nick Drake.
