Diatom Deli’s “Disarray” exalts a renewed threshold of melodic reverence, with indelible arcs that chime in bright, audial gusts, and marks the announcement of Deli’s forthcoming album Time~Lapse Nature.
Delisa Paloma-Sisk was born and raised in Tennessee, but grew up traveling to Puerto Rico, where her mother’s family is from, and where she identifies her creative awakening. Time~Lapse Nature is intimate and alien at once, centered around Deli’s airy tests of vocal layering, skilled guitar work, and discreetly sourced / found sound. She’s now settled in Taos, New Mexico where she lives in an Earthship (as featured in the video below for “Disarray”), and continues honing her incredible live set / sound for a year full of touring around Time~Lapse Nature’s May release.
In “Disarray,” memory envelopes echo in warm delirium, yielding a hopeful orbit that delights in its own awareness, cherishing the fruit of each springing tone. Contracted splendor heeds to a quieted dilation, awaiting the shine of a future radiance and connective blush. What integrates in the end is otherworldly, a reckoning of seraphic bliss and deliberate rapture, whose transport relies on the natural world through which its essence is found.
