CEEYS are the brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke, an instrumental duo from Berlin, performing experimental but accessible compositions and improvisations. Their sound is primarily defined by the interplay of cello and piano influenced by authentic electronic gear and instruments from the Cold War period. They create handmade percussive noise from the instrument’s acoustic material potential and process it with numerous live effects. Classically trained, they take more influences from jazz, minimal, ambient and pop.
CEEYS are currently working on the release of their debut album which is scheduled for 2016. To shorten the waiting time you can listen to reworks of tracks by Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Peter Broderick and Carlos Cipa.
