Today we introduce Mount Saint Leonard, a vibrant, alternative folk outfit from Melbourne. Their debut track “Blame Me” is reminiscent of a Southern blues heartbreak track, depicting the classic tale of a plutonic relationship blossoming further, but from one side only. “Blame Me” was recorded live and hasn’t had any overdubs layered in post production, giving the listener a genuine live Mount Saint Leonard experience.
The outfit has much experience working together for frontwoman Kathleen Mary Lee’s solo work. The unity of the band brings new life and vibrancy to their recognizable brand of folk. Mount Saint Leonard bring a fresh, more upbeat and sassier sound to the beauty who has had rave reviews from her 60s folk reminiscent solo work. We hear Kathleen sing with a passion and purpose we have not yet heard from the songstress.
Kathleen, coming from a creative family has utilised the gifts around her. Her father, Michael Lee, was a filmmaker who specialized in experimental films.
