Inspired by the eerie calm of beetle-decimated woodlands in his home state of Colorado, Kael Smith’s (Mombi, Khale) new project Mute Forest arranges subtle beats, layered electronics and occasional nylon guitar for a sound that is gloomily melodic and meditative.
