Simon Linsteadt is a singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from California. He has recorded six studio albums, three solo and three with the San Francisco band Steep Ravine. He has toured extensively around the United States and into Canada, performing at venues including The Fillmore and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, and many festivals in the north and southwest US including Outside Lands, High Sierra Music Festival, Sisters Folk Festival, Fathers Day Bluegrass Festival, Four Corners Folk Festival, and Strawberry Music Festival.
Linsteadt’s debut eponymous solo album was released in late 2015, followed by Fixing My Head in late 2016. His new album, February, will be released in early 2018.
Along with singing and playing guitar, Linsteadt plays a wide range of instruments including bass, piano, drums, harmonica, charrango, and mandolin on his recordings. He has engineered two of his solo albums at home in his own studio. His other four records were engineered and mixed by Jacob Winik at Tiny Telephone Studios in Oakland and San Francisco.
