Taken from “The Scenic Route”, releases February 7 2020 via Bobo Integral.
Dropkick are a power-jangle-pop group from Edinburgh, Scotland. I dare to say that they are one of the most reliable bands in the United Kingdom: they have an impeccable track record full of accurate and precious 2 or 3 minute songs that belong to the invisible line that unites The Byrds, Tom Petty, Teenage Fanclub and Wilco. Not only are they one of the best bands in the United Kingdom, they are also their best kept secret. Although they have toured countless times in Europe, where they have a large troop of fans from France, Germany, Sweden or Spain (among many other countries), they are still waiting for the attention of the big media.
2020 is going to be their year, and it will be the year of making the leap to the first line of global indie-rock. Andrew Taylor (also in The Boys With The Perpetual Nervousness) is a music craftsman as few remain, tireless, tenacious, humble and talented. Bobo Integral is pleased to welcome and accompany them in the edition of their best album to date: The Scenic Route.
The album was recorded in Dropkick’s rehearsal space in Inch House, Edinburgh between May and July 2019. Recorded mainly live, with minimal overdubs, this is the sound of the band enjoying playing together, trusting their instincts and delivering their best ever set of songs.
