Taken from “Book Songs Vol. 1”, and EP that is a celebration of books that Anne-Marie Sanderson have read and loved and been enriched and inspired by. Familiarity with the books isn’t a prerequisite to appreciating the songs, but perhaps the songs will introduce listeners to books and authors that might be new to them.
The track owes a great deal to Robert Macfarlane, Dan Richards & Stanley Donwood.
Anne-Marie Sanderson’s voice is evocative of birds in flight – soaring, gliding, swooping – and it finds its home among the tall trees of her deft guitar work.
With two EPs already released into the wild, Anne-Marie’s “Book Songs Vol. 1” EP, is due in April.
After a decade spent living all over the map, Anne-Marie has recently returned to her native Cumbria, where she now lives in Kendal.
