Estimable Melbourne folk artist, Lucy Roleff returns to us with “A Woman’s Worth”, the first offering from her new record “Left Open in a Room” – the follow-up to 2016’s, “This Paradise“. Drawing on the stories of women in her life, Roleff ponders on the weight of emotional labour and prioritisation of others, whilst trying to maintain a sense of joy and good humour. Lively finger-picked guitar belies these darker themes at times, but Roleff’s rich voice and blunt tongue paired with swirling, woodwind arrangements remind of the strength needed to weather such storms. “Left Open in a Room” is out May 15th on Lost And Lonesome (Australia) and Oscarson (Europe).
