Saviour is the first excerpt of a new Feathership EP scheduled for November 2020, produced by Montreal artist Christian Sean and mixed and recorded by Francis Major (Charlotte Cardin).
Somewhere between a joyous tropicalized version of Kurt Vile and the lonely meditations of Paul Simon leaving Garfunkel, the song is musical ode to the lushness of the tropics; lyrically, it’s a bittersweet exploration of loss and salvation.
Feathership is the moniker for Jean-Philippe Sauvé’s musical project. First assembled as a six-piece indie-rock band that was for a brief moment the most talked-about rookie act from Montreal, Feathership eventually morphed into a more personal and subdued affair, putting Sauvé’s delicate songsmith abilities to the forefront, notably on 2014’s full-length album “Howl“.
