Original song composed by Matt Emery, from the album “Empire”, released September 15th on Injazero Records.
Recomposed by Daigo Hanada.
Piano & additional production by Daigo Hanada.
Emery’s music is described by The 405 as “ebbing from soft whispers to an ocean of sound that would calm even the roughest of seas.” There is melancholia, jubilation, tension, beauty, dark ambience all deftly navigated within its various movements. Though it is delivered with the sombre grace of heavy weights such as Ludovico Einaudi and Ólafur Arnalds.
Daigo Hanada is a Japanese composer/pianist based in Tokyo and Berlin.
Thanks to his mother and grandmother who were koto players, he grew up with music surrounding him from an early age. During his childhood, Hanada was taught to play piano at a young age by Japanese pianist Akiko Takahashi.
In 2015, he moved to Berlin where he immersed in composing. His compositions are often built from broken pieces of improvisations.
