Laura McGarrigle is a pianist, composer and songwriter born in Northern Ireland. Under recording name Gaze is Ghost she has released debut album “Plume” from Paris (2013), singles “Revolvere / Murmuration” from Strabane (2015), and latest release “Feather and Bone” from Edinburgh, where she currently resides.
Along the way she has written a musical, “Pearl”, inspired by Belfast poet-laureate Sinead Morrissey and performed at The MAC, Belfast, and has composed a soundtrack for Giles Walker’s vast animatronic installation I’m Never Shopping Here Again – staged in the tunnels under Waterloo station. Her live performances have ranged from candle-lit harmonium recitals in 12th century chapels to immersive, audio-visual set pieces.
She is currently living in Scotland with her partner, where she is engaged in a fierce battle with the violin and working on her forthcoming album.
