Guy Weir – vocals, piano, guitars, drum machine.
The Kindling are a minimal alt-folk band from London (UK). Their widescreen songs explore themes of disappointment and hope, loss and discovery, action and reflection. Guy Weir’s disarming voice calls to mind Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, Fleet Foxes, or even late Talk Talk as it expertly weaves into noir arrangements that swoop from whispering intimacy to Lynchian, rhythmic dreamscape.
To date they have released three EPs and one album – ‘By morning’ in 2015. In their most recent release, ‘Palooka’ (2017), Weir trades brooding lines with guest vocalist Nadine Khouri.
They have played the Union Chapel (Daylight music), The End Festival, The Lexington, and David Byrne’s Meltdown on London’s Southbank.
